Hosting and email

Below are the questions we get most often, with a short answer and a link to the article with the full explanation. Can't find your question? Ask the AI assistant or check the knowledge base. If you're still stuck, submit a ticket (Submitting a ticket).

How do I get into DirectAdmin?

Via the button next to your hosting package in My Products. You'll be logged in straight away. See Go to DirectAdmin. You can find out what you can do in DirectAdmin in the DirectAdmin guide.

Which server is my hosting package on?

You can see this next to your package in My Products. You sometimes need the server name, for instance for FTP. See Your product overview and The product page for your hosting package.

My storage is almost full. What now?

Clear up old backups or large mailboxes, or expand your storage. The extra space becomes active straight away; the extra cost appears on your next invoice. See Expanding storage.

How do I choose a bigger package?

On your package's product page, on the Change hosting package card. You pay the difference pro rata for the rest of your term. See Changing your package (upgrade or downgrade).

How do I get an SSL certificate (the padlock)?

Domains in a hosting package automatically get a free certificate from Let's Encrypt, as soon as the domain points to our server. If it doesn't work, check that your domain points to our server with Domain health (also without an account). You manage the certificate itself in DirectAdmin (Go to DirectAdmin).

How do I install WordPress?

Use the Website Manager to install WordPress and other software in a few clicks. See Website Manager: installing WordPress and other software. You can also have a website built with the AI Builder (AI Builder: having your website built for you).

Can I restore an older version of my website or mail?

Yes, with WebOké Backups. See WebOké Backups: restoring files.

My website stopped working after a PHP update. What now?

You can change the PHP version yourself, or have us update your website. See Having a PHP upgrade done.

How do I log in to webmail?

Go to webmail via Webmail at the top of our website. Log in with your mailbox's email address (for example info@yourdomain.co.uk) and that mailbox's password. This is different from your WebOké account login. See Email with WebOké: mailboxes, webmail and your email program.

How do I set up my mail on my phone or in Outlook?

Use IMAP with your domain name as the server, port 993 for incoming and 587 for outgoing, and your full email address as the username. If your website runs elsewhere, use your package's server name instead. See Email with WebOké: mailboxes, webmail and your email program.

How do I move my email to WebOké?

Use the email migration tool to transfer all your mail, including from Microsoft 365. Your folders stay intact. See Migrating email to WebOké (including from Microsoft 365).

My mail isn't arriving. What can I check?

Check that your domain's mail records are set up correctly (MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC) and follow the steps in Mail not arriving: check it yourself. The Set up email card next to your package shows you at a glance whether everything is correct (The Set up email card (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)).

Suddenly I can't reach my mail or website anymore, but it works for others.

Your IP address may have been blocked by our server's firewall, for instance because of a device with an outdated password. Check this and unblock the address yourself. See Am I blocked? Release your own IP address.

I get a message saying my mail can't be sent because I've sent too many emails.

Each package has a maximum number of emails per day, to limit misuse, for example by a hacked contact form. If you haven't sent that many emails yourself, contact us straight away so we can check whether your account is being misused. If you genuinely need to send more mail, ask us whether we can raise the limit. See Submitting a ticket.

I want to cancel my website, but keep my email.

Switch your hosting package to an email package. See Converting your hosting package to an email package.
