Chapter 7 · 7.11
Working with Office files from your computer
You edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations in your WebOké Nextcloud with Euro-Office. That has its own manual: the Euro-Office manual. Here you'll only read about how the desktop app Nextcloud Files and Office files work together.
Three ways to open a document
| You open the document | Together with colleagues at the same time | Without internet |
|---|---|---|
| In the browser, in Euro-Office | Yes | No |
| In the Nextcloud Office programme, from your connected Nextcloud | Yes | No |
| From the Nextcloud folder on your computer, with Word, Excel, LibreOffice or Nextcloud Office | No | Yes |
If you open a document from the folder on your computer, you work alone. The desktop app only puts the file into your Nextcloud after you save it. If a colleague is working on the same file in the browser in the meantime, you'll get a conflicting copy (Conflicted copies: what they are and how to resolve them).
Please note: always work on shared documents in the browser or via your connected Nextcloud in the Nextcloud Office programme. Use the folder on your computer for documents that only you work on.

Tip: the Nextcloud Office programme and the synchronisation app Nextcloud Files are two different programmes. You can install both; they're both available at www.weboke.nl/download.
